Platform Engineer (Cloud Infrastructure)

What you will do

• Build and maintain the Supabase Cloud platform and multi-region compute systems.
• Design and operate project provisioning, warm pools, autoscaling, resizing, and resource optimization.
• Improve automation, observability, availability, performance, security, and cost efficiency across the compute stack.
• Collaborate with other teams to develop compute as a core platform offering.
• Participate in on-call rotations, incident response, post-incident reviews, and escalated support resolution.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering skills with Go and TypeScript.
• 5+ years of experience with cloud infrastructure, including AWS, compute, networking, and storage services.
• 3+ years of experience building custom Kubernetes controllers and operating large-scale clusters with tens to hundreds of thousands of pods.
• Experience with distributed systems, multi-region infrastructure design, Infrastructure as Code, and production on-call rotations.
• Knowledge of networking and familiarity with PostgreSQL.
• Pulumi is preferred; Terraform and CDK are acceptable alternatives.

Nice to have

• Experience with GCP and Azure.
• Experience with QEMU, KVM, and NAS.
