Staff Software Engineer, Platform (TypeScript)

Location: Remote

Salary: $200,000–$230,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Own and evolve the release and configuration layer across development, staging, and production environments.
• Design scalable release workflows, reusable deployment abstractions, and artifact promotion systems.
• Build self-service tooling and paved paths that make safe deployment patterns standard for engineering teams.
• Implement automated validation, safety checks, rollback mechanisms, and environment-aware deployments.
• Improve release reliability, scalability, developer experience, and observability across the deployment lifecycle.
• Collaborate with CI, infrastructure, SRE, security, and other platform owners on shared systems.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building platform systems, infrastructure, or developer-facing tooling.
• Strong software engineering skills in TypeScript or a similar language, with hands-on experience building internal tools, services, or frameworks.
• Experience with AWS, GitLab CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and modern deployment architectures.
• Deep understanding of release management, artifact promotion, rollback strategies, deployment safety, and environment governance.
• Experience contributing to shared engineering platforms and solving systemic problems through scalable tooling.
• Curiosity about agentic and spec-driven development.
