Senior Software Engineer (Golang/Node.js)

Location: Hybrid in Durham, North Carolina or Emeryville, California, with at least three office days per week; candidates must be based in the United States.

Annual base salary: $191,000–$293,000.

What you will do

• Design and build scalable backend services in Golang and Node.js that collect, transform, and deliver endpoint data to external destinations.
• Design and evolve APIs with clear contracts, versioning, and backward compatibility.
• Build and maintain third-party connectors, handling authentication, rate limits, payload formats, and failure behavior.
• Implement reliable delivery through retries, backoff, deduplication, back-pressure, NATS event workflows, and Temporal durable workflows.
• Lead technical designs, improve observability, debug production issues, and document solutions for cross-team implementation.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with QA and automation teams on unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building and operating backend services in production, including technical design leadership.
• Strong proficiency in Golang or Node.js, with willingness to work in both.
• Experience with REST, GraphQL, or gRPC APIs; event-driven systems; multi-step workflows; and third-party API or SaaS integrations including OAuth.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Azure or AWS, SQL or NoSQL data stores, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude or GitHub Copilot.
• Must be eligible to obtain FedRAMP clearance and be based in the United States. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with NATS, Temporal, or similar workflow orchestration tools.
• Experience with SIEM or ITSM platforms such as Splunk or ServiceNow, security data, or endpoint data.
• Experience with React, TypeScript, or multi-tenant SaaS services.
