Linguistic and Childhood Language Development Specialist (AAC) - French (AAC)

What you will do

• Contribute expertise in French childhood language development for AAC content.
• Help develop a lexical database organized by parts of speech and morphological forms.
• Evaluate existing lexical data sources and review lexical data for accuracy.
• Collaborate with software developers and AAC content experts to define French-specific software features and expected behaviors.
• Review AAC implementations to ensure French vocabulary, grammar, and syntax support children’s communication needs.

Requirements

• Native French speaker required.
• Fluent English required for discussing complex linguistic concepts with English-speaking developers.
• Background in linguistics and childhood language development.
• Strong understanding of French grammar, morphology, language development, and vocabulary acquisition.
• Conceptual understanding of AAC principles and how vocabulary, grammar, and language development are represented in AAC systems.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with AAC vocabulary organization, content design, or communication support tools for children.
• Experience reviewing lexical resources, language data, or language-focused software products.
