Commercial Lines New Business Placement Specialist (Commercial Insurance)

Location: Hybrid role in Birmingham or Tuscaloosa, Alabama; Coral Gables, Fort Lauderdale, Jacksonville, or Tampa, Florida; or Memphis or Nashville, Tennessee.

What you will do

• Work with commercial lines sales associates to understand prospective clients' property and casualty insurance needs.
• Prepare carrier submissions, obtain quotes, and respond to underwriter inquiries.
• Negotiate coverage terms with carriers and develop relationships with carrier underwriters and representatives.
• Finalize marketing activities, prepare proposal presentations, bind coverage, and complete client onboarding.
• Provide expertise on insurance market trends, pricing practices, underwriting policies, legislation, products, and technology.
• Maintain accurate records in agency management systems and technology platforms.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in a commercial property and casualty insurance agency.
• Comprehensive knowledge of property and casualty coverages, underwriting, and rating concepts.
• Current state Property & Casualty insurance license required.
• Strong verbal and written communication, prioritization, workflow management, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to handle complex tasks, work with minimal instruction, and operate effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
• Working knowledge of internet-based programs and Microsoft Office; Sagitta and ImageRight knowledge is preferred.
