TL;DR
Intermediate Product Designer (Billing): Designing clear, durable billing experiences for communications service providers across invoicing, payments, discounts, collections, and billing configuration with an accent on complex B2B workflows, research-driven iteration, and scalable design systems. Focus on simplifying operational workflows, prototyping and validating solutions, evolving the Boréal design system, and partnering with engineering and QA to ship accessible, high-quality software.
Location: Remote, Canada
Salary: $90,000–$130,000 CAD per year

What you will do
- Design end-to-end experiences for the operational platform, from concepts and prototypes through shipped interfaces.
- Design billing workflows for invoicing, payments, discounts, collections, contracts, deposits, installments, and usage-based billing.
- Use customer research, feedback, support tickets, interviews, usability testing, and rapid iteration to simplify complex workflows.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, implementation, and QA to define scopes, interaction models, specifications, edge cases, and acceptance criteria.
- Use AI tools including Claude to explore options, validate decisions, and ship designs to production code.
- Build and evolve the Boréal design system while raising standards for craft, accessibility, and clarity.
Requirements
- 5+ years of product design experience with a portfolio demonstrating strong craft and clear thinking.
- Experience designing complex B2B software, preferably for communications service providers, ISPs, or subscription businesses.
- Proficiency with Figma, FigJam, Claude Design, Claude Code, and user testing tools.
- Strong user-centred design, mixed-method research, experimentation, agile development, and problem-solving skills.
- Clear communication and the ability to align design, product, engineering, and other partners across multiple workstreams.
- Ownership mindset, growing leadership, openness to feedback, and comfort working in fast-moving iterative environments.
Nice to have
- Experience with billing or payments.
- Bachelor’s degree in user experience design or a related field.
