Presales Solutions Architect - Observability

Location: Remote home office in the United States; listed location is US - TN - Home Office

Estimated annual pay: $180,000–$250,000, including base salary and bonus

What you will do

• Design and deliver demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, and technical presentations for full-stack observability solutions.
• Lead client discovery sessions covering application, infrastructure, cloud, network, and end-user experience monitoring.
• Design target-state architectures for instrumentation, OpenTelemetry adoption, telemetry pipelines, data tiering, alerting, SLOs, dashboards, and integrations.
• Translate distributed tracing, telemetry cost management, SLOs, and AI-driven event correlation into business value for technical and executive audiences.
• Develop reference architectures, battle cards, competitive analyses, technical briefs, and enablement materials.
• Evaluate vendors, support platform consolidation and modernization, train engineering and sales teams, and identify new observability opportunities.

Requirements

• Minimum 6 years of experience in observability, monitoring, SRE, systems engineering, application operations, or infrastructure architecture.
• Experience in presales, solutions architecture, or technical consulting related to observability, infrastructure, or application operations.
• Deep knowledge of instrumentation, telemetry pipelines, data management, tool consolidation, migration planning, SLO-based operating models, and continuous improvement.
• Experience with enterprise solution design, system security, data privacy, CI/CD, automation, and infrastructure as code.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, Terraform, or Ansible for instrumentation, monitoring-as-code, and integration workflows.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent work experience; strong presentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Observability platform, APM, cloud, DevOps, Kubernetes, OpenTelemetry, or ITIL certification.
