Manufacturing Engineer

What you will do

• Plan, design, set up, modify, optimize, and monitor specialist manufacturing processes.
• Prepare process designs for new product and process introductions, including jigs, tooling, and capital equipment.
• Lead manufacturing introduction projects and ensure project requirements are achieved.
• Evaluate and tender for new equipment, and collaborate with research and development on new manufacturing solutions.
• Analyze manufacturing methods, improve processes, resolve operational issues, and support factory layout changes.
• Provide technical troubleshooting, maintain work instructions and training materials, and uphold quality and safety standards.

Requirements

• Knowledge of CNC machining, plastic injection moulding, or mould making.
• Experience with micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and machinery used in metalworking shops, including vertical mills, lathes, drills, and grinders.
• Strong planning, organization, leadership, problem-solving, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Proven mechanical aptitude and the ability to work independently with cross-functional teams.
• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to work on-site in Telford and occasionally work off shift during process and procedure implementation.
