Staff Full Stack Engineer (Java/Kotlin)

What you will do

• Set technical direction and cross-squad architecture across 2–3 squads while line-managing 3–5 Full Stack Engineers.
• Design and review Spring Boot microservices, React/TypeScript applications, APIs, messaging, integrations, and shared platform capabilities.
• Define secure, reliable, accessible, observable, and compliant engineering standards for digital banking products.
• Improve Azure deployment patterns, CI/CD, local development, testing, release processes, SLOs, incident management, and developer experience.
• Establish responsible use of Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot, and other GenAI tools, including code review and impact measurement.
• Mentor senior engineers, lead architecture forums, and align technical programmes with Product, Design, Risk, Compliance, and Operations.

Requirements

• Extensive experience designing distributed systems at scale with Spring Boot, Kotlin or Java, React, and TypeScript.
• Experience simplifying complex architectures and defining shared patterns and platforms across multiple squads.
• Strong experience with containerised workloads, Azure or another major cloud platform, deployment, monitoring, and scaling.
• Deep knowledge of secure coding, OWASP, privacy, auditability, regulatory expectations, observability, SLOs, and incident management.
• Strong CI/CD, DevOps, infrastructure-as-code, automated testing, and API governance experience.
• Proven technical and people leadership experience, including mentoring senior engineers and influencing technical and non-technical stakeholders.
