Manufacturing Engineering - Extended Enterprise (d/f/m)

Location: Manching, Germany; on-site role with flexible and mobile working options where possible.

What you will do

• Manage the external industrial footprint, including parts and subassembly suppliers, risk-sharing partners, and component subcontractors.
• Assess supplier readiness, industrial capability, technical knowledge, manufacturing means, capacity, quality, and ability to meet contractual commitments.
• Support make-buy strategies, cost assessments, production trade-offs, and industrial supply chain risk mitigation.
• Translate design and industrial requirements into executable supplier specifications and coordinate technical and contractual commitments.
• Support supplier onboarding, capacity ramp-up from prototype to rate production, and compliance with Airbus, airworthiness, health, and safety standards.
• Participate in technology and innovation projects, advancing the Technology Readiness Level and Manufacturing Readiness Level of processes and materials.

Requirements

• University degree in Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Several years of professional experience in an industrial environment and experience managing complex, cross-disciplinary projects.
• Knowledge of aerospace design and manufacturing ecosystems, supplier capability assessment, make-buy analysis, and supply chain risk management.
• In-depth knowledge of at least one manufacturing process, such as additive layer manufacturing, composites, low-observability materials, build processes, or configuration control.
• Experience coordinating technical requirements, offers, and contracts with external partners, including technology maturation and TRL/MRL methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal English is required. German, project management qualifications, MBSE/PLM tools such as CATIA and 3DX, lean manufacturing, and negotiation skills are advantageous.
