Manufacturing Engineering - Industrial Architect (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Define the industrial system technical baseline across conceptual studies, development, technology maturation, and full production.
• Coordinate factory and production-system architecture, including flow types, station sequences, and physical and logical layouts.
• Coordinate manufacturing disciplines such as composites, metallics, tooling, assembly, systems installation, and ground testing.
• Lead industrial system reviews, technical trade-offs, configuration changes, and make-or-buy decisions.
• Define facility and infrastructure requirements and support risk and opportunity management.
• Support process methods and tools, MES, PLM, SAP, data systems, security, and manufacturing innovation projects.

Requirements

• University degree in aerospace engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field.
• Several years of professional experience in an industrial environment and an understanding of the aerospace design and manufacturing ecosystem.
• Knowledge of at least one relevant manufacturing process, such as additive layer manufacturing, composites, low-observability materials, build-process generation, or configuration control.
• Experience with technology maturation, innovation processes, TRL/MRL methodology, complex industrial architectures, and cross-disciplinary project coordination.
• Excellent written and spoken English for collaboration with stakeholders.
• Ability to work with incomplete requirements, solve complex industrial problems, and apply a design-for-manufacturing-and-assembly mindset.

Nice to have

• Additional qualifications in systems engineering or project management.
• Knowledge of MBSE and PLM tools such as CATIA and 3DX.
• Experience with LEAN manufacturing and agile project management.
• Knowledge of German.
