Tool Technician (Injection Moulding)

Location: Wotton, Surrey, United Kingdom; onsite role. Own transport is required due to the rural location. Monday–Friday, 8:00–16:30.

What you will do

• Clean, service, strip down, inspect, and reassemble injection moulding tools.
• Repair, modify, and maintain injection moulding tools and associated tooling.
• Document service and repair work in electronic records, including photographs of issues.
• Support production with tool cleaning and repairs in the tool room, factory, and clean room.
• Assist with equipment repairs, breakdowns, calibration, and maintenance as required.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Requirements

• C&G, NVQ, or apprenticeship training.
• Experience with mechanical assembly and disassembly, plus basic wiring.
• Experience using manual and CNC machine tools, including surface grinders, VMCs, milling machines, or centre lathes.
• Mechanical engineering or toolmaker apprenticeship experience; injection moulding tool experience is beneficial but not essential.
• Ability to read and understand 2D component drawings; wiring drawing experience is advantageous.
• Computer skills with email, Excel, and Word, plus the ability to communicate, cooperate, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.

Nice to have

• High-precision injection tooling, polishing, and finishing experience.
• Hot runner and multi-cavity tooling experience.
