Equipment Engineer (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: Manchester, United Kingdom; onsite role with a rotating 4-on-4-off pattern of 12-hour day and night shifts. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not available.

Starting base salary and shift allowance: £61,056+, depending on experience, plus up to 6% bonus.

What you will do

• Plan and perform scheduled preventive maintenance on specialist wafer-processing equipment.
• Maintain and repair diffusion equipment, troubleshoot faults, and perform root cause analysis.
• Manage critical spare-parts stock to support reliable manufacturing operations.
• Use equipment and maintenance data to identify cost-effective performance and KPI improvements.
• Drive continuous improvement in equipment reliability, technical capability, quality, and 5S standards.
• Work with shift leaders, engineering colleagues, production teams, and external specialists to resolve operational issues.

Requirements

• Right to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not available.
• Ability to work rotating 4-on-4-off 12-hour day and night shifts.
• HNC qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to 5S housekeeping, health and safety, and quality procedures.

Nice to have

• Experience with diffusion or deposition semiconductor toolsets.
