(Fixed-Term) GMP Engineering Specialist (Bioprocess Equipment)

Location: Oxford, England; based in Harwell and 100% onsite

hirify.global develops mRNA medicines and is building a research, development, and manufacturing facility for mRNA vaccine production.

What you will do

• Provide engineering ownership and direct technical support for critical GMP bioprocess equipment, including ultrafiltration, chromatography, TMIX, single-use mixers, buffer preparation vessels, fermenters, and reaction vessels.
• Support daily floor operations, equipment uptime, reliability, and operational readiness for hirify.global's Norwood manufacturing network.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical and process issues, determine root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Lead small- and medium-sized technical projects while balancing quality, compliance, and production timelines.
• Manage change controls, deviations, quality records, facility fit activities, and technology transfer for new equipment platforms.
• Develop technical documentation and improve preventive maintenance strategies to support consistent batch outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 4 years of relevant process engineering experience.
• Experience with bioprocess equipment; 2 years in a GxP environment is preferred.
• Strong structured problem-solving, root-cause analysis, CAPA, technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; basic statistical analysis is preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple complex assignments, collaborate cross-functionally, and take full ownership with minimal supervision.
