System/Solutions Architecture (Automotive Audio)

Location: Garching, Bavaria, Germany; hybrid work with most office-based roles onsite three days per week. Willingness to travel 10% of the time and visit customer locations when requested.

What you will do

• Define system software architecture for embedded and SoC-based car audio systems from initial concept through product launch.
• Lead and coordinate MCU, DSP, AVB, and related software architecture work to optimize feasibility, performance, and cost.
• Analyze internal and customer requirements, prepare system definitions, and create detailed software system block diagrams.
• Collaborate with system, cybersecurity, and functional safety architects on product design.
• Participate in selecting next-generation digital processing components and perform design reviews throughout development.
• Present technical concepts to OEMs and guide customer teams on audio solutions aligned with vehicle architectures.

Requirements

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree with software, hardware, and embedded systems knowledge.
• 10+ years of experience in OEM automotive product design, preferably in audio systems.
• Experience with automotive communication buses including CAN, Ethernet, and A2B, plus onboard buses such as I2C, SPI, TDM, and UART.
• Experience in hardware and software development, debugging, validation, requirements management, and system design.
• Strong understanding of automotive product development processes and the ability to communicate architecture concepts clearly to business and customer stakeholders.
• Good written and verbal English communication skills; willingness to travel 10% and visit customer locations.

Nice to have

• DSP software, audio framework, AUTOSAR, RTOS, C/C++, and model-based development experience.
• Experience with Enterprise Architect, DOORS Next Generation, Automotive SPICE, cybersecurity, or functional safety.
• Experience working with automotive OEM customers on audio, infotainment, or embedded system development.
• Familiarity with TS16949, PPAP, APQP, MSA, SPC, DFMEA, and quality countermeasure documentation.
