Senior Kotlin / Java Software Engineer - Clearing & Settlement (m/f/x)

Location: Munich, Germany; opportunity to work from abroad. International relocation support is available if required.

What you will do

• Build and evolve business-critical clearing and settlement services with Kotlin, Java, and Spring Boot.
• Design and operate distributed, event-driven services and APIs for resilient financial workflows.
• Develop cloud-native applications on AWS using containerised services on ECS and serverless workloads on Lambda.
• Implement infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, observability, monitoring, and automated testing.
• Own delivery from idea through production and improve engineering quality, reliability, automation, and developer experience.
• Collaborate in autonomous, cross-functional teams using agile practices, Domain-Driven Design, and code reviews.

Requirements

• Relevant university degree or comparable qualification.
• Strong experience building backend services with Kotlin or Java and Spring Boot.
• Solid understanding of Domain-Driven Design and the ability to model complex business processes.
• Experience with distributed, event-driven systems, APIs, and cloud-native AWS development.
• Practical knowledge of automated testing, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability, reliability, and security.
• Clear communication skills and a collaborative, pragmatic approach.
