Supervisor / Team Lead, NGS

Location: Milton Keynes, United Kingdom; permanent, full-time, onsite position.

What you will do

• Provide functional and disciplinary leadership to Associate Scientists in the Milton Keynes NGS laboratory.
• Induct, train, develop, and manage employee performance while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Plan capacity, coordinate resources, and ensure timely completion of customer projects and reagent verifications.
• Oversee sample data, sample integrity, daily management, deviation resolution, and quality performance monitoring.
• Coordinate internal quality assurance, equipment maintenance, audits, regulatory documentation, and compliance activities.
• Manage laboratory costs, inventory, procurement, workflow improvements, automation, and service portfolio expansion.

Requirements

• Degree in life sciences with a focus on molecular biology or a comparable field, or vocational training as a BTA or MTA.
• Experience leading and managing teams in a pharmaceutical, medical, or biological laboratory environment.
• Experience working in a certified and regulated environment, with knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 15189.
• Strong project management, leadership, communication, and team development skills.
• Independent, efficient, detail-oriented working style and proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Ability to collaborate with international laboratory sites and supporting departments including HR, Finance, IT, Purchasing, Logistics, and Quality Management.

• Next-generation sequencing experience.
• Knowledge of Lean Management principles.
