Associate Scientist

Location: Milton Keynes, United Kingdom. Permanent, full-time, onsite position.

hirify.global, part of Azenta Life Sciences, provides multiomics and synthetic biology services including next-generation sequencing, Sanger sequencing, gene synthesis, antibody production, viral packaging, and mRNA synthesis.

What you will do

• Process samples through accessioning, quality control, normalisation, library preparation, and post-preparation quality control.
• Perform DNA sequencing using next-generation DNA analysers.
• Maintain sample integrity, processing records, and customer accountability.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, follow SOPs, and comply with ISO 15189 and ISO 9001 standards.
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness, monitor inventory, and replenish sequencing consumables.
• Report errors, support troubleshooting, and collaborate with colleagues to achieve team and company goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences required; an advanced degree is preferred.
• Knowledge of standard laboratory processes.
• Ability to follow and contribute to the development of SOPs.
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Milton Keynes, United Kingdom.

Nice to have

• Next-generation sequencing experience.
• Experience with ISO 15189.
