Accountant (Manufacturing Finance & SAP) - 12 Month Contract

Location: Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia; office-based role

What you will do

• Manage fixed asset accounting, including SAP asset creation, depreciation, tagging, physical audits, and capital expenditure tracking.
• Support inventory accounting through stock adjustments, cycle counts, inventory valuation, FIFO reviews, and inventory metric monitoring.
• Perform cost centre spend analysis, variance reporting, forecasting, and management reporting.
• Partner with Production, Planning, Procurement, Sourcing, and Warehouse stakeholders to identify gaps and drive corrective actions.
• Support month-end close, accruals, foreign exchange revaluation, working capital management, and AR/AP aging reviews.
• Maintain internal controls and assist with internal, statutory, and tax audits.

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, ACCA, CIMA, or an equivalent qualification.
• At least 5 years of relevant finance and accounting experience.
• Strong SAP experience and experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of inventory accounting, costing, fixed assets, budgeting, and month-end close processes.
• Strong analytical and Excel skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at different levels of the business.

• Experience across Costing, FP&A, Manufacturing Finance, Inventory, Fixed Assets, Reporting, or Commercial Finance.
• Experience partnering with operational and plant leadership teams.
• Exposure to forecasting, planning, and business performance analysis.
