Technical Lead, Full Stack Development with Node.js and React

Location: Remote across Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Uruguay, and LATAM countries; listed cities include Monterrey, Montevideo, and Rosario.

What you will do

• Drive technical decisions and contribute to the target architecture for a modernized platform.
• Analyze the existing PHP/Yii 1 codebase and define practical migration approaches.
• Develop Node.js backend services, React interfaces, scalable APIs, and platform integrations.
• Guide developers, resolve complex technical challenges, and maintain code quality and engineering standards.
• Act as the primary technical contact for the client and translate business needs into actionable technical tasks.
• Prepare and prioritize the technical backlog, coordinate delivery, track blockers and dependencies, and facilitate planning and technical discussions.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with Node.js, backend development, React, and modern frontend development.
• Strong knowledge of SQL databases, including MySQL or PostgreSQL, as well as software architecture, API design, and system integrations.
• Experience with legacy system modernization or migration projects and practical implementation planning.
• Experience as a Technical Lead, Lead Developer, or Senior Engineer with technical coordination responsibilities.
• Experience with backlog management, requirements clarification, task decomposition, delivery coordination, and blocker resolution.
• Strong English communication skills and experience working in Agile, distributed teams with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor or GitHub Copilot.
• Experience with PHP, Yii 1, monolith-to-modern-architecture migrations, microservices, or modular architectures.
• Experience in client-facing engineering or consulting environments.
• Experience with Jira or similar delivery management tools.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams across multiple locations or time zones.
