Agentic AI Engineer, Expert

Location: Hybrid in Oakland, California, working from an employee’s remote office and the Oakland headquarters based on business need; assigned work location must be within the PG&E Service Territory.

Salary: $140,000–$189,000 expected range; Bay Area range up to $238,000. Eligible for discretionary incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Define enterprise AI platform architecture, technical standards, reference architectures, reusable patterns, and strategic roadmaps.
• Architect multi-agent systems, autonomous workflows, Agent-to-Agent communication, and Human-in-the-Loop capabilities.
• Design AI Gateway, MCP, traffic management, and secure integrations with enterprise systems.
• Architect RAG, semantic search, vector database, knowledge graph, and enterprise context management platforms.
• Establish AI security, governance, Responsible AI, privacy, compliance, and FinOps architecture controls.
• Lead architecture reviews, advise business and technology leaders, evaluate emerging technologies, and mentor architects and engineering teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, or a relevant equivalent background.
• At least 5 years of experience in cloud, solution, platform, or enterprise architecture.
• AWS Associate Certification or an equivalent cloud platform certification.
• Experience with agentic AI platforms, AI Gateways, MCP, Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, AWS Bedrock, or enterprise AI services.
• Experience designing cloud-native platforms, enterprise integrations, API-based platforms, RAG solutions, vector databases, and knowledge graphs.
• Experience with AI governance, Responsible AI, security controls, DevSecOps, observability, GenAIOps, and executive stakeholder communication.

Nice to have

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• 3+ years of experience architecting AI, ML, Generative AI, or Agentic AI solutions.
• Experience in utility, critical infrastructure, or highly regulated environments.
• Experience developing enterprise-wide AI platform transformation strategies.
