AI Architect Principal - AI Foundation

Location: Hybrid position based within 50 miles of a FedEx campus in Plano, Texas; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; or Memphis, Tennessee. Campus attendance is required several times per week.

What you will do

• Define and maintain enterprise AI architecture, reference architectures, design patterns, and technology roadmaps.
• Architect, build, and execute foundational AI platforms and reusable capabilities across business pillars.
• Evaluate AI technologies, cloud platforms, tools, infrastructure, and strategic partners.
• Advise business units and project teams on practical AI applications and architectural approaches.
• Govern AI solution implementation against architecture standards, data governance, security, and best practices.
• Mentor technical talent and provide AI thought leadership to technical teams and senior executives.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of relevant experience solving ambiguous business problems with novel system architectures.
• Proven experience defining enterprise AI strategy, enterprise architecture, reference architectures, or reusable platforms adopted by multiple teams.
• Deep expertise in scalable AI and machine learning systems, data architecture, data engineering, and MLOps.
• Knowledge of major cloud platforms including GCP, AWS, and Azure, as well as LLMs, prompt engineering, NLP, RAG, MCP, AI agents, computer vision, and predictive analytics.
• Strong understanding of data strategy, governance, and security for enterprise AI solutions.
• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
