AI Engineer I

Location: Hybrid position in Plano, TX; Pittsburgh, PA; or Memphis, TN. Candidates must live within 50 miles of the campus location and work onsite several times per week.

Salary: $7,882.48–$10,444.28 per month in Plano or Pittsburgh; $7,488.36–$9,922.07 per month in Memphis.

What you will do

• Design, develop, deploy, and maintain production AI and machine learning solutions, including AI agents and data pipelines.
• Build scalable pipelines for model training, validation, inference, and deployment.
• Transition research prototypes and experimental models into reliable enterprise applications.
• Establish operational readiness through SLOs, monitoring, alerting, observability, incident response, and rollback strategies.
• Integrate AI services into business workflows and digital platforms using APIs.
• Apply governance, fairness, security, explainability, and risk standards to deployed AI systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent formal training in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
• Five or more years of experience in IT information security, with knowledge of security and risk frameworks.
• Strong coding skills in Python, Java, or C++, plus experience with API development and software design.
• Experience with machine learning, deep learning, PyTorch or TensorFlow, data preprocessing, feature engineering, SQL, NoSQL, and ETL pipelines.
• Experience with MLOps, Git, automated testing, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, and model monitoring.
• Must live within 50 miles of the Plano, Pittsburgh, or Memphis campus and work onsite several times per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, LangChain, LangGraph, and RAG systems.
• Knowledge of GCP, AWS, or Azure AI/ML services and big data technologies such as Apache Spark.
• Experience with React, Vue, Angular, or similar frontend frameworks for applications using AI models.
