Staff Recruiter, Design & Specialized Tech (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA — hybrid, with office attendance approximately 2–3 days per week or more depending on the role. The San Francisco office expectation includes the San Jose metro area.

Salary: $168,000–$190,000 annual cash compensation for the San Francisco Bay Area.

What you will do

• Run full-cycle, specialized recruiting searches from pre-search strategy through offer acceptance across design and technical roles.
• Build outbound sourcing strategies, map talent markets, develop bar-raiser pipelines, and provide data-backed recommendations on level, location, and compensation.
• Partner with Compensation, People Partners, Executive Operations, Candidate Experience, Finance, and hiring leaders to move searches forward.
• Deliver a high-touch, honest, and caring candidate experience while meeting recruiting service-level agreements.
• Build and test AI-enabled approaches for sourcing, market analysis, and interviewing, then share effective practices with the recruiting team.
• Develop an in-market design community in San Francisco through local events and relationship building.

Requirements

• Typically 8+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience in specialized technology, including meaningful experience specializing in design recruiting.
• Strong design recruiting expertise and the ability to discuss craft with senior design leaders.
• Data fluency across multiple tools, with the ability to translate research into clear search decisions and hiring narratives.
• Advanced sourcing skills, market knowledge, and experience building always-on talent pipelines.
• Proven cross-functional partnership skills and executive presence when working with senior leaders.
• Bias for action, resilience, and willingness to flex into Product Management, Data, and other technical searches.

Nice to have

• Experience recruiting across Product Design, Design Systems, Content Design, UX Research, Service Design, Brand Studio, Creative, or Design Operations.
• Experience building AI agents, skills, or other AI-enabled recruiting approaches.
