Employee Benefits Analyst V (Insurance)

Location: Denver, Colorado, or Seattle, Washington

Salary: $115,000–$140,000 annually; target bonus incentive of 5%

What you will do

• Analyze financial, claims, utilization, renewal, benchmarking, funding, IBNR, and lag data for fully insured and self-funded clients with approximately 100–1,000 covered lives.
• Prepare customized analyses, renewal rate projections, funding models, executive summaries, and client correspondence.
• Develop alternative strategies, plan models, and cost-reduction opportunities.
• Analyze group insurance contracts and financial arrangements and validate carrier renewal rating illustrations.
• Serve as a primary contact for insurance carriers, requesting quotes, evaluating coverage options, negotiating rates, and marketing new business and renewals.
• Participate in peer reviews, analyst onboarding, and ongoing research into industry developments, legislation, products, technology, and trends.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in employee benefits or a related field.
• High school diploma required; a college degree is preferred.
• Must hold or be willing to obtain a state Life & Disability insurance license.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
• Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, problem-solving, critical-thinking, prioritization, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage complex tasks and multiple deadlines with minimal instruction.
