Psychiatric Complaints & Grievances Specialist

Location: Remote in the United States; currently not hiring in Hawaii

Salary: $128,000–$149,150 annual base salary; no bonus for this role.

What you will do

• Own the clinical review and resolution of psychiatric complaints and grievances involving care quality, safety, and appropriateness.
• Investigate cases through chart review and provider outreach, render fair determinations, and document resolutions within expected service-level agreements.
• Identify recurring complaint patterns and report them to Psych Quality leadership to support preventive quality improvement.
• Collaborate with Psych Clinical Quality NPs, the Psychiatric Patient Programs NP, and non-clinical Psych support teams.
• Provide direct patient care for approximately 30% of working time after becoming familiar with the complaints-and-grievances pathway.
• Report to the Associate National Medical Director as an individual contributor.

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted PMHNP license, current PMHNP board certification through ANCC or AANP, and valid California DEA registration.
• At least 3 years of outpatient psychiatric practice and 3 years of comprehensive psychiatric care in a fully remote telehealth setting.
• At least 1 year of experience in quality improvement, chart auditing, or peer coaching, including feedback or education for psychiatric providers.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver empathic, direct feedback and maintain clinical and safety standards under pressure.
• Proficiency with modern EHR and clinical workflow platforms, including the ability to learn systems such as hirify.global Portal, AMD, Salesforce, Airtable, Looker, and Zendesk.
• Must be based in the United States; Hawaii is excluded.

Nice to have

• Active CPHQ certification.
• Experience using AI or AI-augmented tools such as AI scribes, AI-assisted chart review, or LLM-based workflows.
• PMHNP licensure in multiple states, especially Florida, Tennessee, Georgia, or New York.
• Experience creating clinical learning and development materials, guidance documents, templates, coaching resources, or educational content.
