AI/ML Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: King George, Virginia, United States; onsite work in the Dahlgren, VA office

What you will do

• Develop and modify software applications supporting cyber situational awareness, command and control, mission assurance, and homeland defense.
• Design, code, benchmark, test, debug, document, and sustain application features.
• Design, deploy, monitor, and maintain production-scale machine learning systems and models.
• Build data engineering solutions involving ETL, streaming, distributed processing, SQL and NoSQL databases, and Azure infrastructure.
• Participate in performance, load, stress, security architecture, and lifecycle testing.
• Collaborate in an Agile team through requirements analysis, design, implementation, deployment, sustainment, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and standups.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and an active or interim DoD Secret clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
• DoDD 8140.01 IAM Level I certification or higher.
• Experience designing, developing, and deploying production-scale machine learning systems and infrastructure, including MLOps and model lifecycle management.
• Experience with Git, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, GitLab, API design and integration, cloud-native ML platforms, and Azure.
• Experience with enterprise data engineering, ETL, streaming, distributed processing, SQL and NoSQL databases, containerization, and custom data visualization.
• Proficiency in at least one object-oriented language: C#, Java, or Python; knowledge of software requirements, architecture, testing, debugging, documentation, and the software development lifecycle.

Nice to have

• Experience applying machine learning to cybersecurity, including threat detection, anomaly detection, and security analytics.
• Experience with Azure Government, DoD or cybersecurity projects, and custom software development.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, Kubeflow, MLflow, ELK Stack, Power BI, Apache Jena Fuseki, or Apache NiFi.
• Experience with automated data, UI, load, performance, security, and contract testing.
