Sr Project Manager (High-Voltage Transmission and Substation Construction)

Location: Kansas City, Missouri, US; field-based. Must be based in or willing to relocate to the metro area. Travel to surrounding project sites is required as needed.

What you will do

• Manage high-voltage transmission and substation construction projects from award through final turnover.
• Lead pre-construction planning, scheduling, procurement, construction execution, commissioning, and closeout.
• Coordinate Superintendents, field teams, engineers, subcontractors, clients, inspectors, and other stakeholders.
• Develop budgets, cost forecasts, productivity tracking, schedules, resource plans, and corrective action plans.
• Manage invoices, purchase orders, change orders, scope changes, project documentation, and client reporting.
• Promote safety, OSHA compliance, environmental compliance, utility standards, and quality control throughout construction.

Requirements

• 8–10+ years of experience in transmission and/or substation construction, with utility-scale infrastructure project management experience.
• Strong knowledge of high-voltage construction methods, sequencing, safety requirements, budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and project teams.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, contracts, and technical specifications.
• Experience with construction management and scheduling software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, Procore, or similar systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience; valid driver’s license required.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available. PMP certification is required within 60 days of hire.

Nice to have

• Background in legal, contracts, finance, or a related project management field; training may be provided to the right candidate.
