Java Engineer II (AI)

Location: Remote within the United States; an in-person interview may be required during the hiring process.

Salary: USD $83,670–$161,815 annually, with state-specific ranges and a typical California hiring range of $110,468.25–$153,428.13.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain complex software systems and medium-complexity applications.
• Write high-quality, well-tested, modular, configurable, secure, scalable, and maintainable code.
• Translate product requirements into robust technical designs and reusable solutions.
• Support application systems and participate in design and code reviews.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance to promote engineering best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• 2–4 years of programming experience and proficiency in an industry-standard language such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
• Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, design patterns, relational and NoSQL databases, and caching solutions.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and work independently on simple tasks.
• Experience with APIs, modern protocols such as REST and gRPC, and software development practices.

Nice to have

• 5 or more years of experience with Java or Python.
• Production experience with AI tools, including building agents or MCP servers.
• Experience with Angular, SQL and NoSQL databases, CI/CD, Jenkins, GitHub, Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, or Guidewire.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science.
