Software Engineer, Sr. Consultant Level (AI)

Location: Bellevue, Washington, United States; at least 3 days per week in the office. Travel required 5–10% of the time.

Salary: $162,500–$260,400 USD per year, with potential bonus, equity, and sales incentive payments where applicable.

What you will do

• Translate complex payment, fraud, data, and real-time commerce challenges into engineering roadmaps, user requirements, and technical specifications.
• Lead experimentation with AI technologies, model types, LLM features, and platform capabilities from proof-of-concept through pilot and scaled deployment.
• Design and implement AI-native capabilities across cloud-native, distributed, and globally scalable payment platforms.
• Guide architecture, model integration patterns, responsible AI standards, observability, explainability, data quality, and model testing.
• Analyze customer signals, system performance, model behavior, bugs, and user friction to drive durable product and operational improvements.
• Partner with product, engineering, data science, design, security, UX, DevOps, and business stakeholders while mentoring teams and developing engineering practices.

Requirements

• At least 3 days per week in the Bellevue office; willingness to travel 5–10% of the time.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree, 5 years with an advanced degree, 2 years with a PhD, or 11 years of relevant experience.
• Experience delivering products involving AI/ML, data, cloud, or highly distributed systems, with a focus on scalability, reliability, and measurable customer value.
• Expertise in Python and/or NodeJS, with familiarity with Java or C/C++, containers, Kubernetes, LLM APIs, vector databases, and real-time data systems.
• Experience with generative AI applications, conversational AI, RAG, multi-agent architectures, NLP, deep learning, data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation.
• Experience with enterprise security, application design, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, container deployment, Jenkins, OAuth2.0, SSO, authentication, SSDLC, and cryptography fundamentals.

Nice to have

• Experience in the payments technology industry.
• Exposure to machine learning, deep learning, stream computing, and MLOps.
• Experience with front-end technologies such as ReactJS or Angular.
