Software Engineer (AI/Financial Platform)

Salary: $185,200–$277,800, $196,100–$294,100, $207,000–$310,400, or $217,800–$326,800 USD annually, depending on location zone.

What you will do

• Build scalable backend services and reporting infrastructure for Accounting, FP&A, Tax, and Procurement.
• Lead migration of business-critical workflows from legacy vendor platforms to internal systems without customer or agent disruption.
• Design configurable workflow engines, rules-based routing, and event-driven automation.
• Own integrations with internal and external platforms using APIs, event streams, and messaging patterns.
• Translate financial, regulatory, and operational requirements into reliable technical solutions with audit trails, access controls, and data governance.
• Lead architecture discussions, mentor engineers, and direct AI agents across design, implementation, debugging, and code review.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience delivering quality software for complex systems.
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems, including high-throughput services, state management, and graceful degradation.
• Experience designing workflow or state-machine systems with branching logic, SLAs, and human-in-the-loop steps.
• Proficiency with APIs and integrations, including REST, gRPC, event-driven architectures, and data synchronization.
• Experience with financially sensitive or regulated systems, including idempotency, audit trails, data retention, and access controls.
• AI-first mentality, familiarity with agentic engineering, and strong collaboration with non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with platform migrations and phased rollouts.
• Background in accounting, revenue forecasting, treasury, or tax operations.
• Experience building multi-tenant or multi-business-unit platforms.
• Experience with operational analytics, data pipelines, or reporting systems.
