Firmware Co-op (Embedded Systems)

What you will do

• Design, implement, and test embedded firmware features under senior engineer guidance.
• Contribute to board bring-up, driver development, and debugging for microcontroller-based systems.
• Write maintainable C/C++ code and use Python scripting as needed.
• Use debuggers, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers to diagnose and resolve issues.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and test engineering on hardware–firmware integration.
• Participate in code reviews, documentation, continuous improvement, and firmware optimization.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, preferably.
• Foundational knowledge of embedded systems, microcontrollers, and C/C++.
• Familiarity with GPIO, I2C, SPI, UART, and Git.
• Ability to learn quickly, ask thoughtful questions, and research information from multiple sources.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to evaluate multiple solution paths.
