Firmware Engineer III (Embedded C/C++)

What you will do

• Develop application firmware for embedded controllers used in industrial, commercial, residential, and retail generator or power tool products.
• Design control algorithms, communication interfaces, and system interface requirements.
• Develop firmware and software modules, maintain documentation, and create design specifications.
• Design, execute, and evaluate firmware and hardware testing in laboratory and real-product environments.
• Support design for manufacturability, design for test, simulations, troubleshooting, and design reviews.
• Collaborate with engineering teams working on engines, transfer switches, alternators, and related product interfaces; mentor less experienced engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering discipline.
• At least five years of embedded programming experience.
• Strong proficiency in C and C++.
• Expert knowledge of engineering principles and communication protocols or hardware interfaces.
• Ability to solve engineering problems, communicate technical information, write test firmware, and perform detail-oriented work.
• Candidates requiring sponsorship now or in the future, including OPT and H-1B transfer candidates, cannot be considered.

Nice to have

• C# experience.
• Experience creating and executing firmware testing strategies.
• Ability to independently validate code before formal testing.
• Exposure to or willingness to adopt AI-assisted development tools.
• Experience with mature engineering processes and cross-functional environments.
