Civil Associate - Surface Water

Location: Remote work allowed for a position associated with Santa Ana, California, United States. Occasional project-site visits may be required; no travel is otherwise expected.

Salary: $105,476–$121,458 per year

What you will do

• Support Civil Engineers, Technical Managers, and Project Managers with data analysis, calculations, design, and plan production.
• Prepare construction documents, maps, reports, specifications, and supporting documentation for water and wastewater projects.
• Develop 1D and 2D surface water hydraulic models for floodplain mapping.
• Conduct feasibility studies for water supply, runoff collection, treatment, and wastewater collection facilities.
• Perform hydrological analyses and three-dimensional simulations of water movement.
• Attend project meetings, visit sites when needed, and report findings to project leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in civil engineering, surface water, or a related area.
• Experience with municipal and highway water drainage projects and Southern California drainage requirements.
• Experience working with municipal departments and regional, state, and federal agencies in California.
• Proficiency in at least 8 listed tools, including AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, InRoads, ArcGIS Pro, HydroCalc, TR-55, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, FlowMaster, CulvertMaster, and PondPack.
• Knowledge of XPSWMM and PCSWMM Storm Water Management Models.
