Data Scientist (Big Data)

What you will do

• Support requirements for new system capabilities in a customer cloud computing environment.
• Extend and maintain bulk data pipelines and enhance multiple applications.
• Build ETL processes that transform structured and unstructured data into enriched, query-friendly indexed files.
• Process operating-system and data logs into reports, metrics, and dashboards using tools such as CloudWatch and Kibana.
• Perform data mapping, extraction, transformation, loading, data review, and quality analysis.
• Collaborate with customers and integration partners and contribute to Agile task definition, scope, and review.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
• Experience with Spark, PySpark, Python, SQL, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
• Experience with ETL, data mapping, source and target documentation, data dictionaries, and data modeling.
• Experience processing XML and JSON files, using regular expressions, and working with IDEs, notebooks, and Visual Studio.
• Experience building analytic reports and dashboards with CloudWatch, Kibana, or similar tools.
• Experience interfacing with customers and integration partners in an Agile development environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Databricks, Elastic MapReduce, and complex Spark data-set joins.
• Experience tuning Spark streaming and batch jobs and deploying notebook-based pipelines.
• Experience with Pandas and AWS services such as Lambda, SNS/SQS, EC2, DynamoDB, and RDS.
• Experience with the Elastic, Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana stack.
