Sr. Data Engineer

Location: New York City, United States; hybrid schedule with office attendance required a minimum of four days per week

Salary: $115,000–$145,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain reliable, testable data systems and pipelines.
• Ingest, process, cleanse, and store large volumes of data from internal and external systems.
• Work with stakeholders to define business requirements, KPIs, and acceptance criteria.
• Build real-time and automated batch implementations of data science solutions with software and data architects.
• Maintain code repositories, CI/CD deployments, test automation, and peer review practices.
• Use observability and advanced analytics to identify issues, diagnose causes, and implement fixes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience with big data, ETL, pipeline development, analysis, and programming.
• Experience building scalable, distributed, highly available, and resilient systems with platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, GCP, or AWS.
• Strong SQL and data processing skills, plus experience with data visualization.
• Experience with software repositories, CI/CD pipelines, test automation, SRE practices, and cloud environments.
• Ability to work from the New York City office at least four days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with multi-billion-record datasets and enterprise digital analytics platforms.
• Knowledge of CDNs used to deliver streaming media.
• Experience leading projects spanning data science and data engineering.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
