What you will do

• Lead the development, optimization, and execution of single-cell assays involving plasma cells, memory B cells, primary T cells, T cell libraries, and other immune cell types.
• Design Beacon optofluidic workflows connecting single-cell functional phenotypes with antibody heavy- and light-chain and TCR sequence recovery.
• Apply expertise in B cell and T cell activation, differentiation, exhaustion, memory, and functional responses to assay and product design.
• Collaborate with genomics, molecular biology, engineering, assay development, bioinformatics, Applications, Commercial, and Product Management teams.
• Translate customer, market, and product requirements into scientific and assay requirements for platform development.
• Provide scientific leadership for feasibility studies, concept exploration, design reviews, technical decisions, and strategic customer programs.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Immunology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, or a related field with 3+ years of industry experience, or an M.S. with 5+ years of industry experience.
• Deep expertise in B cell and T cell biology and functional characterization.
• Strong expertise in flow cytometry, including experimental design, panel development, data analysis, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to independently design, execute, interpret, and troubleshoot complex experiments with primary immune cells.
• Experience developing or troubleshooting complex cell-based assays, characterization workflows, or methodologies.
• Experience contributing to product development, technology or reagent transfer, verification and validation, or translating customer needs into technical requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with single B cell discovery, antibody heavy- and light-chain molecular recovery, single-cell RT-PCR, cloning, or NGS-based approaches.
• Experience with CAR-T cells, TCR-engineered T cells, TCR discovery, immune repertoire analysis, or engineered cell products.
• Experience with NGS data analysis, immune repertoire sequencing, and biological data visualization using Tableau, Spotfire, Power BI, or equivalent tools.
• Familiarity with spatial biology and multidisciplinary product development spanning biology, engineering, software, and applications.
