Location: San Diego, California, United States of America; hybrid, lab-based role in La Jolla, California

Base pay: $109,000–$174,800 per year

What you will do

• Design, execute, analyze, and interpret complex biological studies for target validation, mechanism of action, and program progression.
• Own the scientific quality, delivery, and documentation of research results.
• Synthesize literature and data, communicate recommendations, and influence decisions with project teams and management.
• Provide technical guidance and scientific mentorship to colleagues in a highly matrixed environment.
• Contribute to abstracts, posters, publications, technical reports, and patent applications.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Immunology or a related field with 1–3 years of additional relevant laboratory experience.
• Strong knowledge of immunology, including cells, cytokines, and signaling pathways involved in autoimmune disease.
• Hands-on experience with primary cell isolation and culture, in vitro inflammation models, in vivo autoimmune disease models, and spectral flow cytometry.
• Experience using multi-omic approaches such as single-cell RNA sequencing and spatial transcriptomics to investigate biology and therapeutic mechanisms of action.
• Strong scientific judgment, written and oral communication skills, and ability to work effectively in a highly matrixed environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with in vitro potency assays for large- or small-molecule therapeutics.
• Experience with laboratory automation to increase experimental scale and efficiency.
