Architectural Designer II (Higher Education)

Location: Los Angeles, CA, US; hybrid work with regular in-office days and travel to project sites

Salary: $38.45–$50.00 hourly

What you will do

• Produce and manage coordinated construction documents that meet quality, technical accuracy, and code compliance standards.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants to maintain technical alignment and design integrity.
• Research building codes and support regulatory coordination with authorities, including California’s Division of the State Architect.
• Research materials, products, and building systems to support detailing and specification development.
• Support construction administration through RFIs, submittals, field reports, and site observations.
• Provide technical support to junior team members and contribute to technical standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Architecture or a required four-year architecture degree.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience with demonstrated technical proficiency.
• Proficiency in BIM/Revit, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
• Experience with construction document sets, consultant coordination, building codes, and varied construction types.
• Strong attention to detail, self-motivation, flexibility, collaboration, and ability to work under deadlines.
• Ability to access project sites and travel to client, project, and construction meetings.

Nice to have

• LEED accreditation or another sustainability credential.
• Experience with 3-D coordination using Revizto.
• Experience with UpCodes and RIB Speclink.
• Desire to motivate and mentor others.
