Sr. Cloud Security Engineer (Remote)

Location: Home-based remote role associated with Oak Brook, Illinois, United States; relocation is not provided.

Salary: $115,300–$155,000 per year, with possible incentive and bonus opportunities.

What you will do

• Remediate infrastructure and cloud vulnerabilities across Azure subscriptions and enterprise infrastructure.
• Administer vulnerability management and CSPM/DSPM tooling, track remediation SLAs, and report compliance posture.
• Implement and validate security controls for cloud-native services, IaaS, PaaS, containers, networks, firewalls, and compute platforms.
• Define and maintain cloud security policies, Minimum Security Baselines, compliance reporting, and audit evidence.
• Embed security into CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code implementations, including secret scanning and least-privilege deployment identities.
• Provide technical leadership, architecture guidance, and mentorship to Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, and application teams.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in cloud, infrastructure, or security engineering with hands-on security work.
• Strong Azure experience across networking, compute, AKS, Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, Azure Policy, Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, Key Vault, and Azure Monitor.
• Experience with vulnerability management, CSPM/DSPM, SIEM, PAM, certificate management, and cloud security tooling such as Rapid7, Wiz, Orca Security, and Delinea.
• Experience securing CI/CD pipelines, GitHub or GitLab, Azure DevOps, Terraform, ARM templates, Bicep, or Chef.
• Experience hardening Windows and Linux servers and applying Zero Trust, NIST, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, or Minimum Security Baseline principles.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience; a formal technical assessment is required after initial screening.

Nice to have

• AZ-500, SC-100, SC-200, AZ-104, or equivalent cloud and security certifications.
• Experience in financial services, insurance, or health-tech environments.
• Exposure to ASP.NET, .NET, Java, gRPC, Redis, or SQL Server security considerations.
