Location: Virtual US; remote work with occasional travel for team meetings and cross-functional projects, typically monthly or quarterly.
Base salary: $120,000–$135,000 annually, plus a 10% target annual bonus. Compensation varies by location, experience, skills, and internal equity.

What you will do
- Design, build, and maintain secure AWS cloud architecture and infrastructure.
- Implement infrastructure-as-code security controls, automated compliance scanning, and cloud configuration hardening.
- Monitor cloud threat landscapes, CSPM alerts, cloud-native security tools, and public-cloud misconfigurations.
- Automate security monitoring, alerting, vulnerability scanning, and security testing within CI/CD pipelines.
- Design and audit controls supporting HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC, and continuous compliance.
- Lead vulnerability remediation, incident response, forensic investigations, and secure-by-design consultation with engineering teams.
Requirements
- 5–8+ years of dedicated security engineering experience focused on AWS security, cloud-native architecture, and DevSecOps.
- Experience building and architecting security infrastructure from the ground up as a primary architect and functional owner.
- Experience implementing CSPM or CWPP tooling and automated security controls in CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficiency in Python, Terraform, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Strong understanding of SaaS risk management, hardening processes, and DLP implementation and management.
- Excellent communication skills and prior experience in a startup environment.
Nice to have
- CISSP, CNAPP, or related certifications.
- Experience with CSPM tools such as Wiz, Orca, or the AWS security tools suite.
- Experience implementing and tuning SIEM and event management tools.
- Experience in digital healthcare or developing new security tooling.
