Sr. Platform Software Engineer (React/TypeScript)

Location: Home based in Oak Brook, Illinois, United States. Infrequent travel of approximately 10% may be required. Remote status and role locations may change; relocation is not provided.

Salary: $115,300–$160,000 per year, with possible incentive and bonus opportunities.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and deploy API and web applications.
• Build client-facing products with React, TypeScript, NodeJS, GraphQL, and related technologies.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, architects, and software developers to plan and deliver scalable solutions.
• Apply security, performance, maintainability, usability, scalability, and reliability standards.
• Improve engineering standards, tooling, automation, and developer productivity within an Agile environment.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, documentation, technical guidance, and solution-design reviews.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software or solution architecture roles delivering complex enterprise-level cloud solutions.
• Strong knowledge of software architecture principles, design patterns, architectural frameworks, and continuous delivery, cloud, observability, and developer experience patterns.
• Proficiency with JavaScript, React, TypeScript, Apollo GraphQL, Git, PostgreSQL, Google Cloud, Jest, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience delivering secure, high-performance, fault-tolerant, and highly available client-facing solutions, including web portals, online payments, and third-party integrations.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience, plus strong analytical, communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
• Ability to occasionally work overtime or after hours and spend prolonged periods working at a computer.
