Level 1 (Associate) Network Installation Technician

Location: Remote within the United States with at least 70% travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations.

What you will do

• Install and de-install telecommunications infrastructure, racks, ladder racks, subfloor systems, and related equipment.
• Manage fiber, copper, DC power cabling, raceways, and fiber management systems.
• Terminate, clean, test, and troubleshoot RJ45, coaxial/BNC, wire-wrap, fiber-optic, and related cable systems.
• Perform grounding activities for HTAP and equipment installations.
• Review requirements and prepare redlines, survey reports, daily status reports, and site completion reports using Microsoft Office.
• Travel with project teams to complete installation assignments.

Requirements

• One to two years of experience in telecommunications or electronics construction, maintenance, or repair, or equivalent technical education.
• Knowledge of common communications installations and hands-on experience with network devices such as routers and switches from multiple manufacturers.
• Ability to install network devices according to DISN Implementation Standards.
• Strong verbal, written, and graphic business communication skills.
• Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one.
• Must be based in the United States and open to at least 70% travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations.

Nice to have

• Government network systems experience.
• Experience with cable running, splicing, and connectors.
• Basic telecommunications installation tool kit.
