Vice President of Programs (Defense Services)

Location: Tampa, Florida, with regular in-person leadership at hirify.global headquarters; travel up to 25%

What you will do

• Lead the company-wide Program Management Office and establish governance, operating cadence, decision rights, performance measures, and escalation paths.
• Maintain an integrated portfolio view covering program health, staffing, milestones, deliverables, financial performance, customer commitments, and risk.
• Lead award readiness, mobilization playbooks, launch plans, and workforce deployment for new programs, task orders, and contract expansions.
• Hold Program Directors and program managers accountable for delivery, financial results, risk management, customer outcomes, and corrective actions.
• Own program budgets, forecasts, estimates at completion, contract economics, labor mix, revenue, margin, utilization, and indirect-cost considerations.
• Provide the CEO and executive team with fact-based visibility into readiness, performance, capacity, risk, and required decisions.

Requirements

• 15 or more years of progressive leadership experience in defense, federal contracting, or government services, including at least seven years leading programs, portfolios, or a PMO.
• Experience establishing program governance and mobilizing major awards, task orders, or multi-site programs with significant workforce growth.
• Strong program and portfolio financial management experience, including budgets, forecasts, estimates at completion, revenue, margin, utilization, and indirect costs.
• Working knowledge of FAR and DFARS and experience with cost-reimbursement, time-and-materials, and firm-fixed-price work in IDIQ and task-order environments.
• Master's degree or equivalent education and relevant executive experience.
• U.S. citizenship, ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance, regular work from the Tampa headquarters, and required travel.

Nice to have

• Prior experience as a Vice President of Program Management, PMO leader, portfolio executive, Mission Director, or comparable defense-services leader.
• Experience building a PMO and scaling a defense-services business.
• Operational experience in C5ISR, unmanned systems, counter-UAS, or systems integration services.
• Experience with large IDIQ vehicles, rapid task-order mobilization, joint ventures, and cleared geographically dispersed workforces.
• PMP, PgMP, DAWIA, FAC-P/PM, comparable credentials, or Deltek CostPoint experience.
