Information System Security Engineer SME (Cybersecurity)

Location: Washington, DC, United States; onsite office position

Salary: $175,000–$190,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead the implementation of the Security Assessment and Authorization Program and the full Risk Management Framework lifecycle for enterprise IT systems.
• Lead, mentor, and supervise security professionals while coordinating preparation, system categorization, control selection, tailoring, and documentation.
• Oversee the implementation and assessment of technical, operational, and management security controls throughout system and application lifecycles.
• Prepare risk management documentation for system authorization and executive decision-making.
• Direct continuous monitoring and assessment activities, using metrics to support sustained compliance and process improvement.
• Advise stakeholders on cybersecurity risk analysis, incident response, remediation, audit support, security awareness, and training.

Requirements

• Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility
• 10+ years of progressive technical security engineering experience, including GRC and RMF tools.
• At least one of the following certifications: CISSP or Associate, CASP CE, CSSLP, CISSP-ISSEP, or CISSP-ISSAP.
• Minimum 10 years of experience or equivalent education and experience; alternative combinations include a doctorate plus 6 years, a master’s degree plus 6 years, an associate degree plus 10 years, or a high school diploma/GED plus 14 years.
• Experience with security engineering, architecture, risk management, compliance, and enterprise IT systems.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in computer science, business management, or an IT-related discipline.
• Experience with JCAM, CSAM, and Xacta.
