Information System Security Officer - Senior (Cybersecurity)

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, and apply a methodology for categorizing FBI information systems by classification, impact level, hosting environment, data types, business function, and other operational criteria.
• Align categorization practices with FIPS-199, NIST RMF publications, CNSS policies, overlays, and FBI cybersecurity directives.
• Analyze system risk, operational impact, security posture, and required ISSO/ISSE support levels.
• Maintain documentation for system grouping, labor mapping, support allocation, reporting, and cost recovery.
• Coordinate with program leadership, the COR, call order management, and internal reviewers.
• Support ATO lifecycle activities, POA&M tracking, risk assessments, compliance documentation, audit readiness, and approved reporting automation.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required to start.
• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, information assurance, information systems, computer science, engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 8+ years of experience in federal cybersecurity compliance, information assurance, ISSO support, or system security governance.
• Experience with system categorization, security control compliance, risk management, federal RMF processes, GRC tools, reporting, documentation, and audit readiness.
• Working knowledge of FIPS-199, NIST SP 800-37, NIST SP 800-53, and CNSS 1253.
• One of the following certifications: CISSP, CISM, CAP, Security+, or GSLC.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting FBI, DOJ, intelligence community, federal law enforcement, or national security customers.
• Experience with classified systems and National Security Systems.
• Familiarity with Azure and AWS environments.
• Experience with labor or resource planning based on system complexity or compliance workload.
