Information System Security Officer - Senior (Cybersecurity)

What you will do

• Develop and maintain a methodology for categorizing FBI information technology systems by classification, impact level, hosting environment, data type, business function, and related security criteria.
• Apply categorization logic across assigned systems and analyze risk, operational impact, security posture, and ISSO/ISSE support requirements.
• Maintain documentation for system grouping decisions, labor mapping, support allocation, reporting, chargeback, and cost recovery.
• Coordinate with program leadership, the COR, the call order PM, and internal reviewers to ensure consistent and defensible methodology.
• Support ATO lifecycle activities, POA&M tracking, risk assessments, compliance documentation, audit readiness, and approved reporting automation.
• Prepare inputs for monthly statements and reporting on labor allocation, cost recovery, labor categories, systems, and FBI divisions.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret clearance required.
• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, information assurance, information systems, computer science, engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity compliance, information assurance, ISSO support, or system security governance in a federal environment.
• Experience with system categorization, security control compliance, risk management, federal RMF processes, GRC tools, reporting, documentation, and audit readiness.
• Working knowledge of FIPS-199, NIST SP 800-37, NIST SP 800-53, CNSS 1253, and federal cybersecurity frameworks.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage multiple systems and deadlines.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting FBI, DOJ, intelligence community, federal law enforcement, or national security customers.
• Experience with classified systems and National Security Systems.
• Familiarity with Azure and AWS environments.
• Experience with labor or resource planning based on system complexity or compliance workload.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CAP, Security+, or GSLC.
