Controls Engineer (HMI Programming)

Location: Sidney, Ohio, United States; hybrid work with at least three days per week in the office. Travel up to 10%, including internationally, may be required.

What you will do

• Develop, modify, and test compressor HMI applications in C#.
• Support compressor testing with lab controls, technician HMI views, and data recording.
• Modify and test compressor control logic using structured text and function block diagram languages.
• Document and track issues, feature requests, control changes, internal specifications, and customer manuals.
• Support application engineers with customer questions, troubleshooting, and limited field control support.
• Support control hardware selection, testing, DFMEA reviews, and integration with variable frequency drives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least three years of experience in industrial controls, application programming, electronics integration, or a similar field.
• Experience with industrial PLC/DCS programming, C#, Python, or comparable programming technologies.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced engineering environment.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States is required; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• HMI programming experience.
• Embedded controller programming experience.
• Experience with HVACR, data center applications, compressors, or turbomachinery.
