Electrical Engineer - Instrumentation and Controls

Location: On-site in Evansville, Indiana, United States; travel up to 20% to client locations throughout the United States.

What you will do

• Lead electrical, instrumentation, process controls, PLC, DCS, networking, communications, and low-voltage power distribution designs.
• Oversee projects from conceptual design through completion while coordinating with engineers, designers, project managers, clients, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Configure and design PLC, DCS, and Safety Instrumented System hardware, software applications, and network architectures.
• Participate in P&ID, PHA, HAZOP, and SIL reviews and design systems in accordance with NEC/NFPA 70.
• Support construction, commissioning, and start-up; prepare instrumentation datasheets, instrument lists, estimates, technical bid evaluations, and vendor reviews.
• Manage scope changes, budgets, schedules, design standards, best practices, mentoring, and professional development.

Requirements

• U.S. bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience designing electrical systems for industrial manufacturing facilities and utility infrastructure.
• Experience with industrial instrumentation and controls, including PLCs and DCSs.
• Professional Engineering license, or willingness to pursue a PE license, preferred.
• Up to 20% travel to client locations throughout the United States.
• AutoCAD and REVIT proficiency preferred but not required.
