Software Engineer (Backend/Python)

What you will do

• Design and implement the core platform architecture for scalability and reliability.
• Build and maintain Python backend services, RESTful APIs, and Kafka-based event-driven workflows.
• Modernize legacy architecture by migrating to containerized AWS services and domain microservices.
• Roll out changes safely with canary releases and improve CI/CD and developer workflows.
• Strengthen monitoring, health checks, autoscaling, scheduled jobs, and data pipelines.
• Collaborate with product and platform teams to improve delivery and shared systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of production backend software development experience with proficient Python expertise.
• Experience designing scalable microservices and event-driven architectures using Kafka and RabbitMQ or Temporal.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases, including PostgreSQL and AWS RDS, plus AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with container management such as ECS or Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code.
• Ability to independently solve complex technical and production problems while collaborating effectively.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with agentic development workflows and AI coding tools such as Claude Code or Cursor.
